Q. What should we wear?

Your photo shoot is all about capturing the unique spirit of your family. Therefore we advise families to wear what they feel comfortable in. For impact, bold colours work really well in the studio, while anything too pale can look washed out. It's a good idea to stay clear of large brand names as they can make an image look dated. As a general rule of thumb, simple lines and shapes are best.

Q. Do you have disabled access?

Yes, our studio is on the ground floor and there is a ramp avaliable to get into the building.

At Imagine we concentrate on producing quality, original images in our studio and the surrounding farm and woodland. We don't come out to people's homes, but we do put all our care and attention into making sure that you not only end up with a stunning selection of images, but you also have a relaxing and enjoyable time in our studio.

Q. Do you do model portfolios?

Imagine’s talented photographers can create professional portfolios full of impact and originality. With experience working in the advertising industry, we know what it takes to get your portfolio noticed. Our superb new portfolio package includes: 90 minute photo session (studio and location), A4 luxury leather bound portfolio with silk lining, 10 digitally retouched and enhanced A4 prints in sleeves, 10 images on CD. This package is priced at £595, with optional upgrades: Extra prints £50, Make-up artist £100, A3 upgraded portfolio £150 This package is perfect for aspiring professional models... or for people who just want a bit of fun. Whatever you’re after, the results will be stunning

Q. Can I bring my pet?

Definately, please do. We've had all manner of dogs, cats, rats, snakes, lizards, guinea pigs and horses. Special arrangements must be made for grizzly bears and sharks.

Q. Do you do airbrushing such as removing my wrinkles / hide my sons spots / tidy up my toddler's bruised knees / erase my baby's dribble / remove my daughter's brace / make my husband look like Brad Pitt?

The answer, in general, is yes we can. We want to make you look as perfect as you possibly can, and from time to time everyone can do with a bit of a polish. If you or a family member is self conscious about anything, we can usually do something about it. At the same time we're careful to make sure you look like you, so although we could stick Brad Pitt's head on your husband's body, it's not really what we're about.

Q. Do you keep the images on file?

All our work is archived so your images are stored indefinitely, so feel free to come back and order at any time.

Q. How long does it take after our shoot before we can come back for our viewing?

After your photo shoot we will take time and consideration putting together a special selection of images, which will be digitally enhanced and expertly presented. we will normally need at least a couple of days to do this. Usually we make an appointment for your viewing at the end of your photo shoot, but if you're in a hurry it's a good idea to make bookings for your shoot and viewing simultaneously.

Q. Do you sell gift vouchers?

A portrait session is a great gift as it combines a fun experience with creating a piece of family history that will last for generations. We can offer gift vouchers for a photo shoot with a 10x8 portrait, or a specified amount for larger portraits. A popular way to do this is to combine the two by getting a gift voucher for a shoot and an additional amount towards portraits, so that the lucky reciever can have a photo session then select something from our stylish range of products.

Q. How long does it take before we get our finished portraits back?

Our much admired range of products are all created with great care and attention. As you can imagine, this level of service takes a little time. After you've placed your order your images will be digitally enhanced by our digital retouchers to make you look great, and any special requests you make are carried out. Then the images are sent for printing to our specialist printers in Glasgow where the prints are made using traditional processes that guarantee a long life. Our framers hand make all our frames using the finest quality mouldings. This process normally takes 4-5 weeks, but we may be able to make special arrangements if time is an issue.

Q. When can I collect my portraits?

Opening times for collections are Tues / Wed / Thurs 10am till 6pm and Saturday 10am till 5.30pm. You do not need to make an appointment to collect your portraits.

Q. My husband / wife / teenager is reluctant to come. How can I persuade them?

Its sometimes the case that, among various family members, the prospect of a family photo shoot is viewed equally with either excitement or anxiety (or occassionally outright hostility!). At Imagine, we create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere where people can have a good time while making a piece of family history. Gone are the days of stiff, static poses, cheesy grins, and brown backgrounds. We create an environment in which people can feel free to express themselves in any way they like. If that means refusing to look like anything other than a moody teenager, thats fine too. But don't be surprised if some initial reluctance soon melts away. Our photographers have lost count of the number of times they've heard people at the end of the shoot exclaiming in surprise: 'That was actually really fun' or 'Much better than I was expecting.'

Q. How many people can I bring along to my shoot?

Our state-of-the-art studio is built in a converted barn, so as you can imagine, there is plenty of room for groups both large and small. We can easily accomodate 30 people. Let us know if you intend to bring groups over 12 people, and we can arrange a double booking to give you plenty of time, and at no extra cost.

Q. Can you resolve a problem with my order?

At Imagine we pride ourselves on our exemplary customer service. We're dedicated to making sure you are blown away by the quality of our portraits. We're an independent studio that treats its customers as individuals with individual needs. If you have an issue with any part of our service or your finished portraits, we are happy to resolve it.

Q. How much do your portraits cost?

Our innovative range of products come in various sizes and presentation options. Prices range from £90 for a 10x8 framed portrait, up to £695 for our beautiful range of feature wall-mounted portraits, and there are many different options in between. We have different payment plans with options to spread the cost over a couple of months.

Although budget, shopping-centre type photography has it's place, this is not what Imagine is about. We specialise in creating something spectacular and lasting that captures the essence of your family. The end results are portraits that will be hugely admired for years to come. If you were to compare Imagine to similar photography studios and franchises, you would find our price list to be very reasonable. What's more, as we are an independent studio, you'll find we tailor to each customer's individual needs with exemplary customer service.
